- Nearby Shop Discovery: Help customers find spaza shops near their location
- Shop Location Services: Allow shop owners to register their shop's location
- Analytics and Improvements: Aggregated and anonymized location data helps us analyze user behavior and improve the Application
Note: Location services are essential for customers to browse nearby shops and for shop owners to be discoverable by customers in their area.
Artificial Intelligence
The Application does not use Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to process your data or provide features.

The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

By downloading or using the My Spaza application, these terms will automatically apply to you. Please read them carefully before using the app.
Important: You're not allowed to copy, modify, or distribute the app or any part of the app. You're also not allowed to attempt to extract the source code, translate the app into other languages, or make derivative versions.
Intellectual Property
The app itself, and all trademarks, copyright, database rights, and other intellectual property rights related to it, remain the property of SMARTHOMETHINGS (PTY) LTD.
Service Modifications
SMARTHOMETHINGS (PTY) LTD is committed to ensuring that the app is as useful and efficient as possible. We reserve the right to:
- Make changes to the app at any time and for any reason
- Charge for app services or features
- Modify or discontinue features
We will always make it clear what you're paying for and will never charge without your explicit consent.
User Responsibilities
Security
The My Spaza app stores and processes personal data to provide our service. It's your responsibility to:
- Keep your phone and access to the app secure
- Not jailbreak or root your phone (this could compromise security)
- Keep your login credentials confidential
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
Warning: Jailbreaking or rooting your device may make it vulnerable to malware and could cause the My Spaza app to not work properly or at all.

The app uses third-party services that have their own Terms and Conditions:
Internet Connection & Data Charges
Certain functions of the app require an active internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data). SMARTHOMETHINGS (PTY) LTD cannot take responsibility for the app not working at full functionality if you don't have internet access.
Data Charges: If you're using the app without Wi-Fi, your mobile network provider's terms still apply. You may be charged for data usage, including roaming charges if used outside your home territory.
Subscription Services
Pro Subscription
My Spaza offers a Pro subscription that provides enhanced features for shop owners and cashiers. By subscribing, you agree to:
- Pay the specified subscription fee
- Automatic renewal unless cancelled
- Our refund policy as stated in the app
Free Trial
New shop owners receive a 7-day free trial of Pro features. The trial automatically converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial period ends.
Payment Processing
All payments are processed securely through Paystack. We do not store your payment card information.
User Roles & Responsibilities
Shop Owners
- Responsible for subscription payments
- Must provide accurate shop information
- Responsible for managing cashiers and staff
- Must comply with all applicable business laws
Cashiers
- Must be authorized by shop owner
- Responsible for accurate transaction processing
- Must maintain confidentiality of shop data
Customers
- Must provide accurate delivery information
- Responsible for timely payment
- Must treat shop owners and cashiers with respect
Limitation of Liability
SMARTHOMETHINGS (PTY) LTD strives to ensure the app is updated and accurate. However:
- We rely on third parties for some information
- We cannot guarantee 100% accuracy at all times
- We accept no liability for loss arising from use of the app
- Your device battery management is your responsibility
App Updates
We may update the app from time to time. The app is currently available on Android & iOS. System requirements may change, and you'll need to download updates to continue using the app.
Note: By using the app, you agree to accept updates when offered. We may terminate the app at any time without notice, though we'll strive to provide advance warning when possible.
